Interdisciplinary Maps of the East African Rift: Geodynamic Trajectories, Narratives, and Landscapes

Abstract:

The East African Rift is a geological structure stretching over 4,000 km that has resulted from the complex interactions between internal and external processes, as well as with living organisms (including human societies), for more than 30 million years. The Rift Thematic Network (RT Rift) has set itself the challenge of studying this multifaceted subject in an integrative and interactive manner, bringing together all disciplines to better understand its past evolution and address contemporary challenges (climate change, health, energy, and political crises, and biodiversity loss).
